‘And now that I am gone away’ 19 Sept. 2015
And now that I am gone away
None must know that I am here.
I was a color in days gone by,
I was a madness, a love, a fear.
I was a something with a name,
Something we all understood.
But now I’m nameless, now unclear
None knows if I am bad or good.
It’s only I who now knows me—
What I am now, or was before—
Just I alone on my balcony
Not waiting on the ringing phone, not waiting on the knocking door.
It’s only I under the sky,
And none must know I lie beneath.
I was a cloud in days gone by
And drop by drop I’m now the sea.
